The house and services offered

The house has had various names over the centuries, such as ‘Casa dels Diumenges’ (the Sunday House), ‘Ca la Remei’(Remei’s house), ‘Ca la Llúcia’(Llúcia’s house), or ‘Casa del Llamp’(the Lightning House). It is a typical 18th century Catalan village house, and is, in all probability, older than the church next to it, which dates from 1753. The name of the house – La Guineu – meaning ‘The Fox’ comes from a popular saying which refers to the inhabitants of L’Argentera as being isolated and elusive, like foxes.

The house has three floors, with a total capacity for 6 to 8 people. On the ground floor there is a dining-sitting room and a kitchen. On the first floor there are two double rooms. On the second floor there is a double room with a bathroom, and another kitchen with dining/sitting room. There is also a terrace with spectacular views of the Baix Camp zone, and the beginning of the Priorat wine area.

We offer two possibilities:

Option A – for 2 to 3 people, the apartment on the second floor.

Option B – the whole house, ideal for 6 to 8 people.

The house is full of character, warm and comfortable. In the summer, our guests can use the municipal swimming pool free of charge.

We offer advice on visits to the zone, such as cycle routes, walking routes, cultural visits and so on. We also offer specialised stays, such as language immersion courses, or guided nature walks and visits.
